Marcelo Modica

Marcelo Modica, Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer, Discover. In this role, his responsibilities include managing all aspects of Human Resources, including compensation, benefits, learning, talent acquisition, and employee relations.

Prior to joining Discover in May 2006, Marcelo spent 12 years with Morgan Stanley in a variety of HR positions, most recently, as the Global Head of HR for MSCI Barra, Morgan Stanley’s Benchmark and Research Analytics business. In this capacity, he was responsible for all aspects of HR and was a member of MSCI Barra’s Operating Committee. He joined Morgan Stanley in 1994 from Prudential Securities where he was the head of Capital Markets recruiting for the Institutional Securities Division.

Marcelo holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Siena College and a master’s degree in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University. He has been active with the CHRO roundtable group and is serving a second year as a member of the Finance Committee.
