Matt Kerr, Vice President, The Laramie Group, A Kensington International Company
He brings more than 25 years of human resources experience including research, executive search, career transition, talent acquisition and human resources management. Matt has a proven track record in leveraging extensive industry contacts as well as functional groups and organizations to quickly identify and develop top candidates.
Previously, Matt was the Director, Executive Search, North American Practice Lead with Grant Alexander, a BPI group company dedicated to helping clients find exceptional candidates, who can contribute in meaningful ways to their businesses.
Prior to joining Grant Alexander, Mr. Kerr conducted executive searches as a Principal for Talent Integration. Matt has significant experience in Human Resources which includes leading the Human Resources function for a large engineering firm and 15 years experience at Motorola in several positions, including senior human resources management roles. Additionally, Matt served as a coach with several career management firms.
Mr. Kerr has a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management from Keller Graduate School of Management and a B.A. in business from Loyola University of Chicago. He is highly connected to the human resources community, and serves as the group moderator for The Chicagoland HR Transition Group, an online community that facilitates career networking among HR professionals in the Chicago market.
Mr. Kerr spent twelve years as Board of Education official for his local community. He currently chairs the Talent Acquisition Interest Group for the Human Resources Management Association of Chicago (HRMAC) and is a Director at Large for the Society of Talent Acquisition and Recruitment of Chicago (STAR Chicago).
