Human resources professionals frequently need to influence decision-makers to initiate programs that require investment or eliminate programs to save expenses. These initiatives involve significant financial resources and recommendations must be supported with data metrics. HR leaders must have the knowledge and skills to create the business case for their initiatives and support their recommendations through numbers.

This hands-on, skill-building experience will help you:

  • Identify the key elements senior business leaders need to make decisions.
  • Gain confidence in using both operational and financial metrics to support HR issues.
  • Strengthen, influence, and increase impact in your organization.
This course is a follow-up to Financial Fundamentals I. However, Financial Fundamentals I is not a prerequisite to take Financial Fundamentals II. Basic understanding of financial statements is required.

Presented by: Maureen Carson Kiernan, CPA, MBA, Financial Management and Healthcare Financial Management Professor, Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. For several years, Maureen was Relationship Manager for the Metropolitan Chicago Healthcare Council. Prior to her position there, she served as Vice President for Healthcare Financial Services at MB Financial Bank and Fifth Third Bank, as well as Vice President at Northwestern Healthcare.
