Managing Generational Difference
How do we successfully develop the next generations while the Boomers and Traditionalists are occupying all the good seats?
This is a practices-sharing session with your peers—lessons being learned and positive practices in place. Beth Smith (HR Director, Wight & Co.) and Mike Williams (HR Director, Ball Horticultural Co.) will facilitate a full group discussion on developing the next generation of leaders. As the Boomer bubble moves closer to retirement, building the next generation of leaders is critical to the continued strength and success of our businesses. Just as we Boomers have made our mark, so is and will the upcoming generations, frequently referred to as “X” and “Y”. And they are different—they think different, have different values, expectations, and often eye us old fogeys critically. What are we to do with them? Please join us, and come prepared to share what you’re doing (and not doing) in preparing your future leaders.
