SYNOPSIS
Steve will discuss the current economic crisis and its impact on retirement plans, as well as EBSA national and regional projects. He will also discuss what to expect from a DOL investigation and voluntary compliance programs. If time permits, he will cover fee disclosure and electronic filing of annual reports.
BIOGRAPHY
Steve joined EBSA’s Chicago Regional Office as an Investigator in June 1975. He was also a member of the first Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) graduating class. Steve served as a Supervisory Investigator for three years. In April 1988, he became the Associate Regional Director (ARD) for the Chicago Regional Office. In June 2002, Steve was promoted to the Deputy Regional Director (DRD) position in the Chicago Regional Office. On April 1, 2007, Steve was named Regional Director for the Chicago Regional Office.
Steve attended the University of Illinois (Champaign) and studied Civil Engineering for three years before joining the U.S. Army in October 1969. He spent 2 ˝ years in the military service, with 1 ˝ of those years being in Vietnam. He then attended the University of Illinois (Chicago) and graduated with degrees in both criminal justice and psychology.

SYNOPSIS
Anne will talk about the changes coming to the US retirement system, the crisis in pension funding, Roth IRA conversions and executive compensation developments. She will also cover recent developments on health care reform, COBRA, and other health and wellness topics.
BIOGRAPHY
Anne Pachciarek helps companies establish and operate their employee benefit plans, such as 401(k) plans, pension plans, health plans and executive compensation programs. Anne assists public and closely held businesses in finding solutions to a wide range of ERISA compliance, fiduciary responsibility and plan administration problems. She works with pension and profit sharing plans, as well as welfare plans, COBRA, cafeteria plans, deferred compensation and the treatment of benefit plans in mergers and acquisitions.
Anne is an adjunct instructor in employee benefits law at The John Marshall Law School. In addition, she has written numerous articles and spoken on a variety of employee benefits topics for business and professional organizations. Anne is a member of the Employee Benefits Committee of the American Bar Association. She received her law degree from Northwestern University School of Law and her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Adrianne will discuss developments under the ADA, FMLA and ADEA, as well as other important issues, including the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act and the Victims' Economic Security and Safety Act (VESSA).
BIOGRAPHY
Adrianne C. Mazura represents employers in all areas of labor and employment law. Her work during her 30 year plus career has involved her in every area of employment law including union organizing campaigns, collective bargaining negotiations, and defense of numerous individual and multiparty cases throughout the country.
Ms. Mazura is a Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, for which she also serves as outside employment counsel. In 2008, she was named chair of the board of directors of the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education and she is a member of the ALI-ABA Advisory Panel on Employment and Labor Law. In 2004, Ms. Mazura was named an Illinois Leading Lawyer in two categories: employment law — management and labor law — management. She has been selected for inclusion in the 2005-2010 Illinois Super Lawyers® lists.
In 2007, Ms. Mazura was inducted as a Fellow in the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.
