This program will explore the new landscape in talent strategy including rebuilding engagement and trust, retaining employees with substantial programs that build trust and engagement, and designing and implementing incentive plans that respond to today's environment.

Panelists:

Regina Hack, Director of Total Rewards and Shared Services, True Value Corporation

Regina is an experienced Compensation and Benefits professional, with cross industry as well as international and domestic experience. She has held Sr. level Compensation and Benefits positions in the financial services (CitiGroup), manufacturing (Bell & Howell), retail (Sears Holdings) and high tech (Motorola) industries.  In her current role as Director, Total Rewards at True Value Company, Regina is responsible for managing the design, implementation and administration of all compensation and benefits programs for the company, as well as the Human Resources Information system and Shared Services groups. She has in-depth experience designing and administering the full range of Employee, Executive and Board of Director compensation on a global level, including short term, long term (equity and cash) incentives, sales incentive, and benefits for U.S. based multinational and domestic organizations.

Regina has an MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management and a B.S. in Business from Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois. She has a compensation professional certification (CCP) from World at Work, provides volunteer services as an editor for World at Work publications, is an active member of the Chicago Compensation Association and the Human Resources Management Association of Chicago.

Patty Mitchell, Sr. Manager of Incentive Compensation, Baxter

Patty Mitchell has 15 years of employee compensation experience and currently serves as a senior consultant to businesses and regions within Baxter International.  Patty’s primary area of focus within Baxter is incentive design, with an emphasis on sales incentives.  She has consulted on the design of sales incentives in a variety of situations, including start-up products, long-standing successful products, products with performance challenges and for sales organizations outside the U.S. In addition to her work on sales incentives, Patty was also instrumental in the design and implementation of the company’s management incentive compensation plan, as well as several manufacturing plant incentives and reward/recognition programs. 

 

Prior to her work at Baxter, Patty served as a consultant within Towers Perrin’s executive compensation practice, working with companies across industries.  Prior to working at Towers Perrin, Patty worked for a small boutique executive compensation practice called FPL Associates, which focused on development of initial public offering compensation plans within the commercial real estate and financial services industry. 

 

Patty has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Central Michigan University and a Masters Degree in Labor & Industrial Relations from Michigan State University.  She is published in The Corporate Board, National Real Estate Investor and Real Estate Review magazines.    

Linda VanHowe, Practice Leader, Health and Productivity, Buck Consultants

Linda Van Howe is the local Practice Leader for the Health and Productivity consulting practice in Buck’s Detroit and Chicago offices. The H&P Practice helps plan sponsors implement strategies to manage their health care, spend prudently and drive key behavioral outcomes for their employees and dependents. Her health and productivity consulting capabilities include consulting to plan sponsors relative to health and welfare strategies, including plan design, administrative arrangements, health care cost containment, plan funding techniques, flexible benefits and consumer directed health plan designs.

Prior to Buck, Linda was Vice President of HR Services for a Fortune 500 company located in the mid-west.   In this role, Linda directed all aspects of a large HR department including global compensation and benefits, HR systems, payroll, organizational development and executive compensation programs. Linda’s has proven experience in designing enterprise-wide best practices and implementing solution that successfully lead change and drive improved business performance.  She also experience in building the HR function in start-up organizations, including the development of benefit plans, compensation practices, and HR policies.

 

Linda holds a B.S. degree in Management Information Systems from Bowling Green State University.  She is a member of HRAGD (Human Resource Association of Greater Detroit) and Inforum (Women’s Economic Club)
