Rock 'n' roll music has been an integral part of our culture since the 1950s and it keeps on rolling! The original artists are still touring at will and their songs have been embedded in the hearts and minds of each successive generation and their lyrics are as real and relevant today as ever!
So, what has made this music so resilient though out all of the decades of disco, hip hop, pop and alternative rock? Was it the bands' persona, the subliminal message and beat, or the resonate lyrics that seemed to breathe life and hope into the very depths of our souls?
Based on a series of ten shows aired on Chicago's #1 radio station, WGN, over the last 3 years, this one-of-a-kind presentation will take a close up look at both the unique genre of music/lyrics, plus a current "headliner", to provide entertaining and penetrating insights into what has made rock 'n' roll so resilient over all these years while applying these critical principles in building resilient HR careers in a chaotic workplace. The creator of WGN’s Runnin’ Down Your Dream Tour© series, Jeff co-hosted this dynamic show that was featured on Saturdays in December of 2006 and 2007. This highly interactive show highlighted 15 rock ‘n roll songs from 10 different artists like Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, Fleetwood Mac and Boston; along with studio guests, call-ins, and insightful discussions to guide the listeners through a 5 step process to recapture their career passion.
For over 20 years, Jeff has worked in the field of career and leadership development for companies in the consumer products, telecommunications, and hospitality industries. Prior to moving into career consulting, he held senior level positions with GTE (Verizon) and Unilever, as well as, heading Human Resources for mid-size companies. Jeff worked for the last 6 years as a senior consultant for BPI group and has now started his own career and executive coaching practice, JD Carroll and Associates.
Currently, Jeff is launching a series of Career Minutes© that will provide his listeners/readers with a 60 second burst of music and career insights to help them rediscover their career passion. He has created a one hour presentation called Rock Your Career© that will be a one-of-a-kind experience creating awareness, fostering inspiration and empowering action!
