In today’s fast-paced world, understanding and anticipating change is increasingly important.  How ready are you and your organization to react to future trends in employment, technology, corporate social responsibility, and benefits?  A panel of business and HR leaders will discuss these questions and more in this exciting program designed to educate participants about the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead and how HR can be best prepared as a business leader for the future.

Panelists:

Suzanne Erickson, Director, Global Training & Development Hollister Incorporated

Suzanne Erickson is the Director of Global Training & Development for Hollister Incorporated.  In this role, she is responsible for Hollister's learning and training strategies as well as talent management, leadership development, succession management and organizational development processes.   She provides global leadership of critical initiatives linked to the business that drives Hollister's People Strategy, specifically related to people development, talent management and leadership development.  Suzanne joined Hollister in 2005 as Manager, Global Training and Development.  Prior to joining Hollister, Suzanne held a variety of leadership positions in the learning and development, talent management and leadership development areas. 

Suzanne earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Human Relations from Western Illinois University and is a member of the American Society for Training and Development.  She is a certified facilitator in Situational Leadership, Covey’s The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, DiSC Communication Styles system and CCL's 360-degree assessment suite.   

Charles Bretz, Manager, Recruiting Sourcing
Crowe Horwath

Charles Bretz serves as the Recruiting Sourcing Manager at Crowe Horwath LLP. Charles is responsible for developing and implementing various sourcing and research strategies to meet present and future firm recruiting needs. Charles also is responsible for the Employee Referral Program, Vendor Management, and Employment Branding.

Prior to Crowe, Charles served as Senior Sourcer at CDW, where he was responsible for Sourcing, Military Recruitment & Outreach, Career Fair Management and Social Media as it relates to recruiting. Prior to CDW, Charles spent 10 years as a full life-cycle Recruiter and Sourcer at Management Recruiters of O’Hare specializing in Accounting and Finance recruitment.

 

Charles is a member of the Staffing Management Association of Greater Chicago, has presented at The Recruiting Learning Conference and SourceCon, written articles for Talent Management Magazine, Recruiting Trends, Baseline Magazine and many other publications. He has done multiple radio media tours speaking on Social Media and Military Recruiting.  He holds a B.S. in Communications from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL.

Valery E. Gallagher, Director, US State Government Affairs Baxter Healthcare Corporation

Valery Gallagher is Director, US State Government Affairs for Baxter Healthcare Corporation. Valery and her team advocate and advance the Fortune 250 healthcare company’s life-saving and life-sustaining state public policies.  She joined Baxter in 2006 from the inaugural Strategic Health Policy team in Abbott Laboratories’ Pharmaceutical Products Division (PPD). With Abbott since 1997, she was promoted six times to increasing levels of leadership within the State Governmental Affairs team, leaving a post as Regional Director to join PPD in 2005.

Valery started her career as a legislative page for the Illinois State Senate Minority Leadership in 1984 and followed that position with other roles of increasing responsibility with the Connecticut State Senate, US Senate Republican Campaign Committee, and the Lake County, Illinois Republican Party.  Valery has appeared on CNN, presented industry perspectives at The Center for Business Intelligence’s Government Affairs and Lobbying Compliance Congress, at the prestigious Marcus Evans’ Orphan Drugs and Rare Diseases Market Access Conference and has also been a speaker at a number of national and state patient and healthcare industry trade organizations’ meetings. 

In addition to her professional experiences, Valery has extensive community involvement including Illinois Channel Advisory Board (Illinois’ CSPAN) and is currently Vice President of the Board of Directors, a board member of Nicasa, and a member Midwestern University Chicago School of Osteopathic Medicine’s Dean’s Advisory Board. Valery holds a MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, as well as a B.S.degree from Bradley University

Brian Di Bartolomeo, Engagement Director
Bernard Hodes

As an Engagement Director of Bernard Hodes, Brian Di Bartolomeo collaborates with leading organizations on their employment brand, attracting qualified candidates, and providing analytical expertise on their recruitment strategy based on an employee’s organizational lifecycle.  Prior to joining Bernard Hodes, Brian was the Director of Talent Intelligence and Consulting at CareerBuilder where he managed talent intelligence analytics related to human capital metrics for pre-employment studies and recruitment strategy recommendations. 

An industrial organizational psychologist, Brian has an outstanding reputation for developing, implementing, and maintaining sound measurable business practices and effective communication skills with clients, and leadership skills with internal project teams.  Over the past 15 years, Brian has specialized in building strategic relationships in diverse settings and industries while using expertise in survey program design, team leadership, project management, contract negotiation and client retention.

Brian completed his MA work in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and MBA work in Management at Elmhurst College and holds a B.S. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from John Carroll University.
