The 2012 Leadership Series features three programs designed to give you insights on key HR strategies from the perspective of the CEO. You will learn how business leaders approach the challenges of succession planning, leadership development, and employee engagement. You will hear from successful companies, large and small, representing various industries about the competencies and attributes needed to build the right leadership team for success, whether local, regional or global.
Each program includes breakfast and features a lively panel discussion with C-Suite executives, followed by open dialogue and audience Q&A.
Growing Your Cadre of Leaders
According to a recent study published in the Harvard Business Review, only 15% of companies believe they have enough qualified successors to fill key positions. Most business professionals would agree on the need for a great succession planning process. Yet as this staggering statistic shows, companies continue to struggle with establishing productive programs for developing a cadre of future leaders. These shortfalls often impact growth strategies and can have serious implications for overall performance.
This final session of the 2012 Leadership Series will focus on strategies companies are implementing to develop their leadership pipelines. It will explore the pros and cons of building leaders from within versus bringing in seasoned professionals. The discussion will include identification of competencies required for future leaders, how leadership development activities shift for emerging market needs, the impact of diversity goals, and generational and global growth issues.
