HRMAC Membership

HRMAC serves the human resources professionals of over 700 companies, government entities and not-for-profit groups in the greater Chicagoland area. If your organization is not a member, consider joining us. Please review our full list of member benefits.

HRMAC membership is primarily company-based. Organizations should select either the corporate HR staff category, the professional services category, or the sole practitioner category listed below. Membership is effective from July 1 to June 30 of the following year.

Company Membership

Corporate HR Membership
Organizations joining HRMAC to provide professional development and networking opportunities to their Human Resources staff may join under this category. Dues and the number of staff listed are determined by the number of employees your organization has in the Chicago area. Everyone in your organization is considered a member and can take advantage of membership discounts and benefits.

Organizations providing products and services to the human resources community must join HRMAC under the professional services category below.

Professional Services Membership
Organizations that provide products and services to the human resources community are welcome to join HRMAC under our Professional Services membership category. Two tiers provide special pricing to small businesses.

Sole Practitioner Membership
The Sole Practitioner membership is built specifically for HR professionals who have launched their own consulting business.

Offering the full benefits of membership, the only qualification for this membership category is that the company may have only one full time employee - You!

Individual Membership

Any individual who is in the process of a professional transition, is attending an educational institution or is employed in the public sector and is interested in the mission of the Association is eligible to become an individual member. Membership is based on anniversary date.

Transition Membership
Transition Membership is an annual individual membership designed to help ease the burden of changes in employment status.  HRMAC Transition Membership is only available to human resources professionals who are unemployed and actively seeking a full-time, HR-related position. HRMAC recognizes that individuals in transition may, from time to time, accept short-term contract assignments or project work (90 days or less). However, if a Transition member accepts employment in an HR-related role within an organization, a long-term contract assignment with a single organization, or opens a firm offering HR services, Transition membership expires immediately.  The individual may continue HRMAC participation through company membership.

Student Membership
Student Membership may be held by those at the undergraduate and graduate level. This is a low cost way for students to be involved in HRMAC and become acquainted with professionals in the field and learn more about human resources. Any student enrolled in a full- or part-time course of study in the area of human resources management with more than 4 months before graduation is eligible for student membership.  Evidence of earned college hours and anticipated graduation date will be required prior to approval.

Civic Membership
Civic Membership is for individuals in the public sector. Any public sector employee who is interested in the mission of the Association shall be eligible as a civic member.  Since this is an individual membership, only the person holding the membership may take advantage of HRMAC membership. For that reason, consider corporate membership so that all of your employees can participate in HRMAC events at member rates.
