Volunteer of the Year Awardee Announced

(Chicago, October 6, 2009) – Chicago area human resources professionals will recognize Ron Sipiora, Senior Vice President, Aon Consulting, as the 2009 HRMAC Volunteer of the Year during HRMAC’s premier event, SUMMIT 2009, on Wednesday, October 21. The Awards of Excellence were launched to recognize and honor exceptional leaders and volunteers.  All awardees are nominated by a peer, reviewed by a committee of HRMAC members and approved by the Board of Directors.

In awarding Mr. Sipiora this distinction, the Board of Directors recognized him as being a key contributor to the success of Summit and Leadership Series events as a multi-year member of those planning groups. His wide professional network to source thought-leader speakers has been invaluable in HRMAC’s efforts to present the area’s premier HR forums.  He is a ‘roll up your sleeves’ type of volunteer – active regardless of assignment and equally impactful regardless of his role.  He is a volunteer who leads by example!

“Ron has been an unselfish contributor year after year and we are delighted to honor him with this year’s Volunteer of the Year Award,” noted M. Bernadette Patton, HRMAC President and CEO.

In addition to the Volunteer of the Year Award, the Leader of the Year Award is being presented to Joseph Golbus, MD, NorthShore Medical Group.

SUMMIT 2009 is the largest annual gathering of human resources professionals in the Midwest and includes presentations by business and industry thought-leaders, a trade show and special events for young HR leaders and chief human resources officers.  Over 800 Chicago area human resources professionals are expected to attend the event being held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont.
