Late in the spring of 1915, several men from Chicago institutions gathered to share acquaintance; mutual benefits; exchanging young employees, rather than discharging those not properly placed; and close cooperation between schools and industries.
Sounds a lot like today, doesn't it?
One hundred years later, with an unmatched tradition of fellowship, education and leadership, HRMAC is proud of its history of partnership with the Chicago business community. Our membership reflects Chicago's regional diversity of industry, geography, structure and composition. We embrace those that serve in active HR roles as well as those who provide support externally.
Through June, 2016, HRMAC will be initiating new programs and benefits to celebrate this milestone. Join us as we continue to Lead the dialogue on workplace issues, Connect people and resources, and Grow Chicago companies and talent!
Philanthropic Partnership Announced
During our Centennial year, we are pleased to announce a partnership with Skills for Chicagoland's Future, a public-private partnership organization providing demand-based hiring solutions focused on the unemployed and underemployed. Given our leadership role in the Chicago business community, Skills is the perfect partner for HRMAC to provide a philanthropic arm to the Association as well as thought leadership, expertise and support in addressing one of our region's most critical business challenges.
You can help!
We are seeking 50 member organizations to support Skills in any of the following ways:
- Hire the unemployed! Whether a current client or just learning about Skills, let their recruiting team help you fill your jobs.
- Provide pro bono service. If you can lend a recruiter, offer marketing support, invite their HQ team into your onsite training classes....any and all types of pro bono support is welcome. Suggestions are only limited by your imagination!
- Fund. All non-profits need additional funding to expand their offerings. When you donate to HRMAC's Centennial, ten percent of corporate funds will be granted to SCF.
