HRMAC 2011-2012 Board of Directors Announced
Deirdre Drake, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Harris, N.A. was elected chairperson of the Human Resources Management Association of Chicago (HRMAC) for the 2011-2012 association year, effective July 1, 2011.
In her acceptance, Ms. Drake noted “the human resources function is being looked to as a key resource in balancing many of the competing needs in the workplace, while also forecasting what’s next on the horizon.” She continued with applause for the many initiatives HR professionals are leading to help make good companies great and provided insights into activities central to HRMAC’s mission which support the strategic impact of the HR function.
As HRMAC chairperson, Ms. Drake will preside over a Board of Directors composed of key leaders of the Chicago business community.
Katie Lawler, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, GATX, was elected vice-chair. Donna de St. Aubin, Principal, St. Aubin, Haggerty & Associates, was elected secretary. Robert Davis, Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer, American Medical Association, was re-elected Treasurer.
Human Resources professionals newly elected to the HRMAC Board of Directors are: Jeff Bucklew, Vice President of Human Resources, Accretive Health; Barbara Kennedy, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, United Stationers; John Nimesheim, Managing Director, Slayton Search Partners; Patricia Smallsreed, Senior Vice President, Chicago Market Leader, Aon Hewitt; and Mary Lynn Smedinghoff, Executive Vice President, Human Resources, Veolia Water North America.
Re-elected and sustaining HRMAC directors are Stephen Cerrone, Executive Vice President, Human Resources, Sara Lee Corporation; Jim DeVries, Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, Allstate Insurance Company; Keith Emerson, Managing Director, Midwest Region, Lee Hecht Harrison; Michelle McGovern, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Mesirow Financial; Betsy Morton, Executive Vice President, Human Resources, Chamberlain Group and Ana Rodriguez, Senior Vice President, Global Human Resources, Molex, Inc.
Jeffrey J. Childs, Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, U.S. Cellular, becomes HRMAC’s immediate past chair.
