HRMAC 2013-2014 Board of Directors Announced

(Chicago, June 28, 2013) – Robert Davis, Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer, American Medical Association, was elected chairperson of the Human Resources Management Association of Chicago (HRMAC) for the 2013-2014 association year, effective July 1, 2013. In his acceptance, Mr. Davis challenged the membership to improve on past successes by delivering great programs and supporting broader engagement throughout the region.   He shared the board’s key strategies including a focus on professional development for the next generation of  HR leaders, serving as the primary, go-to HR resource for our community and creating alliances that enhance HRMAC’s brand.

As HRMAC chairperson, Mr. Davis will preside over a Board of Directors composed of key leaders of the Chicago business community.  Jeff Bucklew, Chief Human Resources Officer, IDEX, was elected vice-chair.  Michelle McGovern, Director, Human Resources and Talent Management, American College of Surgeons, was elected secretary.  Patricia Smallsreed, Managing Partner, PDS Group LLC, was elected Treasurer.

Human Resources professionals newly elected to the HRMAC Board of Directors are: Dave Esler, Chief Human Resources Officer, US Foods; Steve Merkin, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Renaissance Pharma; Gregg Olalde, Principal, Chicago Market Leader, Buck Consultants; Hilda Harris Piell, Sr. Managing Director, CHRO, CME Group; and Stephanie Smith, Vice President, Human Resources, DePaul University

Re-elected and sustaining HRMAC directors are Barbara Kennedy, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, United Stationers; Colon McLean, Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, The Warranty Group; John Nimesheim, Managing Director, Slayton Search Partners; Robert Powell, CEO, RDP Management LLC; Vicki Slomka, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Ideal Industries; and Mary Lynn Smedinghoff, Executive Vice President, Human Resources, Veolia Water North America.

Katie Lawler, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, GATX, becomes HRMAC’s immediate past chair.
