Recruiting and hiring great employees is a challenging task for HR leaders and a significant investment for companies. Retaining those great employees is crucial. Focusing on the physical, emotional, financial and social wellbeing of each employee is the foundation of Total Rewards and Employee Value Proposition. Our panelists will provide insights on best practices and lessons learned in their journeys to create great work cultures that not only attract, but also retain great talent.

 Joe Holberg, Founder & CEO at Holberg Financial

Joe is the Founder & CEO of Holberg Financial, a financial health and wellness benefit to help employees reduce financial stress. They are based out of 1871 and are growing like crazy - HF works with top companies like EnergyBBDO, Noble Charter Schools, and Dark Matter Coffee. Joe has written two books (Rogue Finances and A Brief Discourse on Financial Justice), given a TEDx talk on Financial Justice, and was just named a 35 Under 35 nominee by Chicago Scholars. His favorite past times are reading and drinking coffee.

Michele McDermott, Senior Vice-President of Human Resources at Assurance

As the top Human Resources professional at Assurance, Michele is responsible for developing, managing and administering all human resource-related strategies, programs, policies and procedures. Leveraging more than 25 years of experience, she develops Assurance’s current and future leaders, recruits top insurance talent and enables business scalability while maintaining a “Best Place to Work” culture. She’s a key driver for minimizing risk and maximizing the health of Assurance’s employee-base. Michele has driven over 95% employee participation in Assurance’s wellness program since its inception.

Prior to joining Assurance, Michele was the Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Safety for National Express Corporation, where she improved employee engagement, rebuilt benefits programs, implemented new safety training and aligned programs with the company’s vision. 

 Cyndi Winsor, CEO at propsHR

Cyndi has over 20 years of experience in engineering with the last 15 years focused on HR technology. While in leadership roles over the last 8 years, she witnessed varied corporate cultures and developed a deep appreciation for culture and its impact on employee engagement.

Prior to founding propsHR, Cyndi was Director of QA at PeopleFluent (previously Aquire) where she was responsible for quality and customer satisfaction of OrgPublisher and InSight products while also being active in product management. She gained a reputation for her tenacity while wearing many hats and leading projects across departments.

Clint Parry, VP, Client Development at Lapin International

Clint Parry leads client development for Lapin International. His efforts have fostered deep relationships with top Fortune 500 and mid-large size privately-held companies, culminating in the Lapin’s rapid growth over the past 10 years. Additionally, he has played an active role in supporting client projects in the areas of strategy consulting, leadership development and executive coaching. Steeped in the Lead by GreatnessTM philosophy, he is passionate about accelerating a growing movement to build purpose-driven, character-centric companies and leaders.

Clint began his career at Xerox Corporation in Arizona, where helped grow Xerox’s document outsourcing services business by adding over $4 million in annual recurring revenue. His success at Xerox earned him three prestigious President's Club Awards.  Subsequently, he left to launch his own business coaching firm, where he coached and advised over 300 business owners. Within five years, Clint's coaching franchise, part of the world's largest business coaching organization, became the largest practice in clients and total revenue for his region. Clint has been a columnist for several business publications. He was also recognized as one of Tucson's 40 under 40. Clint holds a business degree from BYU and an MBA from the University of Arizona's Eller School of Business. He enjoys teaching the principles of economics and free enterprise through his volunteer efforts at Junior Achievement. A sports fan, Clint also enjoys playing basketball, soccer, and golf. He and his wife Kristi are the proud parents of four children.
