In this workshop, you will learn about the science of emotional intelligence and how greater self-awareness can leader to better relationships at work as well as in our personal lives.  You will learn more about your own personal “triggers” and practice strategies for responding with grace in the moments that matter.  This session will provide insight into what emotional intelligence is, how you can develop skills that will elevate your own level of emotional intelligence, and how to use these skills to influence a “High EQ” culture.

 Learning Objectives:

1.       Understand and describe emotional intelligence

2.       Learn how EQ enables stronger performance for organizations and individuals

3.       Adopt new strategies and/or behaviors that will elevate your EQ



Karrie Chitwood –  Director, HR Consulting Services, Advances's Resources LLC

Karrie is currently a Director in Advanced Resource’s LLC HR Consulting practice which provides solutions and expertise in the HR and Talent Management space. Our consultants have been at the forefront of people challenges across thousands of organizations.  The collective knowledge and experience we possess enables us to offer our clients the guidance and coaching they need to succeed.  Our breadth of service offerings fall within the areas of organizational effectiveness, total rewards, culture, and talent. 


Prior to joining Advanced Resources, Karrie spent 19 years with McDonald’s Corporation. In that time she led multiple functions within the business including workforce strategy, benefits and payroll.  In that time, she led large teams where she was responsible for talent development, training, and stakeholder management. Shortly thereafter, Karrie transitioned to consulting so that she could leverage her experience and education to help organizations perform at the highest level by attracting and developing exceptional talent.


Karrie serves on the board of the Community of Organizational Development in Chicagoland (CODIC).  She has a Bachelors degree in health science from Boise State University and a Masters degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
