As the year 2020 approaches, companies are expected to continue rapid globalization, spreading the growing workforce over more countries, thus introducing a greater shift in demographics, an increase in fluctuating workforce, and a change in the role of global headquarters with focus on more local authority.

Strategic roles are expected to be filled by a younger generation with less experience and a greater need for accelerated leadership development. The gap between what the workers value and what companies offer will grow larger. These and other trends position HR as a critical link between headquarters devising the global workforce strategies, and global operations facing the 2020 challenges of people management.

2020 readiness calls for competent global HR practitioners with an international mindset and cross-cultural savvy to support operations across the increasingly diverse workforce in a growing number of countries.

Jenna Susanke, Senior Director, Organizational Development Global Groups, North America Nutrition, PepsiCo

Jenna has 17 years of experience in Global Human Resources and Organizational Development in both consulting and industry roles.  She spent the last three years at PepsiCo designing the global marketing and category organizations as part of the transformation effort of PepsiCo’s global operating model.  Her focus has been on designing cultural change to drive innovation and implementing global talent development and management practices to drive the organic growth of PepsiCo’s nutrition businesses (Quaker, Tropicana, Gatorade, Naked).   Jenna holds a Master of Science in Learning and Organizational Change and a Bachelor of Science in History, both from Northwestern University. Prior to her role at PepsiCo, Jenna was a Director at PwC’s Advisory Practice, partnering with her clients to manage large-scale changes, including mergers/ acquisitions and global operating model re-designs.  Jenna also spent three years in Hong Kong building the talent Asia Pacific management practices for Hewitt Associates. Jenna is a member of ODN, SHRM and HRMAC, and is certified in Hogan Assessments and MBTI.  

Alyson Margulies, Senior Director, Global Talent Development, PepsiCo

Alyson has over 15 years of experience in the field of Industrial Organizational Psychology, including 7 years at PepsiCo in enterprise OD and sector talent management roles and 9 years at McDonald’s Corporation in Global Talent Management and Assessment. Alyson holds a Ph.D. & MS in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Purdue University and an undergraduate in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.  In her current role at PepsiCo, Alyson is responsible for the Global Talent Development Strategy for PepsiCo’s professional employees, including executive coaching, personality & 360 assessment, C Suite bench development (Top 200) and high potential development.  In this role, Alyson also oversee the global talent management process.   Alyson is Master certified in the Hogan Assessments and is a frequent conference speaker at SIOP and HR Forums on executive coaching, assessment and competency modeling.  Alyson is a member of the Conference Board Council on Executive Coaching, the Society for Industrial-Organizational Psychology and Human Resources Management Association of Chicago.   Alyson is also an America Corporate Partners Mentor, mentoring US Veterans returning to the civilian workforce.
Michelle Kristula-Green, Global Head of People & Culture, Leo Burnett & Arc Worldwide

Long considered one of the network’s established leaders, living and working on four continents, where she’s charged with shaping global strategies for attracting, developing and rewarding the most important ingredient in our business: People.

Since taking the role in June 2009, a number of new initiatives have been implemented, including both new and evolved global training programs, a global relocation and repatriation policy, Talent Link/Linkedin/ Twitter global recruiting platforms, P-Talent global expansion, and the Talent Equation, a global proprietary study that identified the factors that drive job satisfaction and retention in creative companies.

Michelle has a rich and renowned history with the agency. Prior to this role she was President of Leo Burnett’s Asia Pacific region the first woman to run an agency region in Asia.  She managed the activity of the region’s 17 offices, comprised of almost 1,400 employees in 13 countries. And oversaw the launch of Arc Worldwide’s Asia Pacific network in February 2005. Under Michelle’s leadership, the region enjoyed some of the highest People Survey scores across the entire Burnett network.

One of the only non-Asian agency heads to have proficiency in Chinese, Japanese, and Spanish, Michelle began her career at Burnett in account management, living in Chicago, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Tokyo and has worked with a broad range of local and multinational clients, including airlines; packaged goods and technology, helping businesses effectively localize global brands and globalize local brands.

Claudia M. Saran, Partner, US People & Change Practice, KPMG, LLP

Prior to her role at KPMG, Claudia held leadership positions in the People & Change area at several global management consulting organizations, including within Strategy, Organization and People in Arthur Andersen’s Business Consulting organization. 

In her 25 years of consulting experience, Claudia has led client engagements in the areas of Organizational and Cultural Transformation, Change Management, Organization Design, HR Function Optimization, and Leadership/Talent Management.  She has worked with clients in a variety of industries and geographies, including Allstate, Boeing, Chrysler, Colgate, Hyatt, JPMorgan Chase, Kraft, McDonalds, Nestle, United Technologies, etc.

Claudia has her MBA from Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management and a BS in Finance, University of Illinois.
