        Internal company programs and their impact on Employee Engagement

When you are considering the benefits of working for a certain employer, you may first think of salary, health care coverage, or paid time off. But what about other internal initiatives? Companies offer many internal programs that employees benefit from, such as lunch and learn training sessions, wellness initiatives, social events, or volunteering opportunities. This event will feature a panel of HR leaders discussing some of these internal programs, why they have the support of senior leadership and how they contribute to overall employee engagement. 


Diamond Greer, Co-Founder, Let’s Vibe L3C  and Associate, GCM Grosvenor

Diamond creates people-centered solutions for organizations and individual visionaries across sectors and passions. She dedicates her time designing inclusive experiences driven by intention and resulting in meaningful impact. Her other hobbies consist of unlocking the value of those around her and writing poetry. She is a fellow of StartingBloc (DC ’15), New Leaders Council Chicago (’16), Chicago Global Shapers (’16), and Chicago Innovation Awards Women’s Mentoring Co-op (’17).

She has completed her Bachelor of Science in Learning & Organizational Change and African American Studies at Northwestern University. She recently returned to her alma mater to pursue her Master of Product Design and Development Management.


Manika Turnbull, VP & Chief Diversity Officer, Health Care Service Corporation

HCSC is the parent company of Blue Cross and Blue Shield Plans in Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.  
In her role, Manika is responsible for managing HCSC's Center for Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) initiatives, ensuring that diversity and inclusion remain cornerstones of HCSC's culture and continue to be integrated into its business operations.  Prior to her role as Chief Diversity Officer, Manika was Chief of Staff for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois, responsible for supporting all activities of the Office of the President.  Manika has been with HCSC for eleven years. Manika is an active member of the Chicago community.  She is a member of several boards and councils.  Manika is a graduate of James Madison University and holds a master’s degree and Ph.D. from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

Lisa Padden, Founder and Principal, Big Toe Consulting

Her firm is dedicated to thoughtful Talent & Organization Effectiveness solutions.  She is a former Fortune 500 executive who spent her corporate career helping organizations, teams, and individuals build capability.  She has worked in multiple industries with global reach, including energy, technology, wholesale distribution, and healthcare. Lisa holds a Master’s Degree in Human Resources from the University of South Carolina, and a BS in Commerce from the University of Virginia.  She also holds a certificate in Evidence-Based Coaching from Fielding Graduate University.  Lisa believes in the unbridled potential of individuals, teams, and organizations.  You can count on her for partnership, excellence, and enthusiasm.

Kim Marzano, Senior HR Business Partner, Advanced Resources

Kim has over 25 years of HR leadership within the staffing industry.  As a consultant and change agent to management on human resource-related issues, Kim develops integrated solutions by formulating partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to executive leadership and employees. She joined Advanced Group in 2006, previously holding roles as VP of Recruiting and Director of Talent Management. 
Kim earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Illinois University and holds certifications from the American Staffing Association and SHRM. Kim is passionate about philanthropy, serving as the Community Outreach Advocate for Advanced Group and sitting on the CSR Committee for the American Staffing Association.
