MAXIMIZING YOUR POTENTIAL: MAKING THE MOST OF INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES

More than ever before, the responsibility to meet your personal and professional goals falls on your own shoulders, and we are encouraged to step forward and speak up for what we want.  For this event, our panel of experienced HR and business leaders will discuss various development programs and growth opportunities offered by companies and professional organizations, as well as how to thoughtfully self-select the ones that you think will be most influential to your career path aspirations.  They'll also offer insight into not only how to take your networking and professional branding efforts to the next level, but also why that matters and how it can have short and long term benefits for you and your organization.

Mychelle Peterson – Senior Marketing Consultant, HUB International

Mychelle’s career has touched on many forms of advertising, marketing and communications strategies over the last 15 years. In her current role at HUB International, she is responsible for developing and managing the execution of integrated regional marketing plans that will drive revenue growth for the eastern half of the US.

Prior to joining HUB in 2017, Mychelle spent six years focused on content development and digital transformation in the financial services sector. While at Northern Trust, Mychelle launched the Wealth Management Twitter handle and helped expand the business unit’s LinkedIn presence. She briefly moved to the content marketing agency world, where she further honed her content strategy, but found she missed the “bigger picture” of being part of an in-house marketing department. Mychelle also has experience in professional services marketing, having served as national marketing director for a large regional public accounting and consulting firm in New York City. She began her career in commercial and film casting, but moved into the advertising agency world where she worked for clients like United Airlines, Motorola and Deloitte.

A true military brat, Mychelle has lived in 14 states and attended more than 12 schools in 12 years. She holds a B.S. degree in Speech & Theatre from Northwestern University, a degree she is proud to say she uses every single day.

Stephanie is passionate about learning and performance, leadership development and the people dimension of organizational change within the education, corporate and healthcare arenas. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (undergraduate), Stephanie served as an educator in both the public education and corporate sector, and as an internal and external consultant for Fortune 100, 150 and 500 companies. Within the public education sector, she was responsible for training and mentoring new STEM teachers, developing and implementing STEM curriculum across multidisciplinary programs and leading behavioral and leadership development initiatives across the district.

In 2013, Stephanie obtained her Masters of Science in Learning and Organizational Change from Northwestern University, studying the theories and frameworks associated with organizational development, psychology, learning sciences and strategy, change and knowledge management, coaching and design thinking in relation to large scale change management and strategic planning. Prior to moving internally with Lurie Children’s Hospital, Stephanie was solicited to develop their leadership competencies and behaviors, in addition to building a philosophy and strategy to benchmark leadership growth and development throughout the organization – what is now the foundation for all leadership programming and development.

Overall, she uses her art and science backgrounds, in addition to her expertise to challenge assumptions, innovate for success and collaboratively develop creative solutions to complex problems. Stephanie enjoys spending time with the most important people in her life, traveling to warm places, and playing tennis and volleyball. She feels absolutely blessed and indebted to the amazing people in her life who have shaped her, given her opportunities without doubt, and believes everyone is a mentor in some capacity.
