What are HRMAC's membership categories?

Corporate HR Membership
Organizations joining HRMAC to provide professional development and networking opportunities to their Human Resources staff may join under this category. Dues are determined by the number of employees your organization has in the Chicago area. Everyone in your organization is considered a member and can take advantage of membership discounts and benefits. Organizations providing products and services to the human resources community must join HRMAC under the Professional Services category. Organizations that are classified as 501(c)3, 501(c)6, or a public school may join under the Nonprofit Organization category.

Professional Services Membership
Organizations that provide products and services to the human resources community are welcome to join HRMAC under our Professional Services membership category. Two tiers provide special pricing to small businesses, including a Sole Practitioner category. Sole Practitioner memberships is offered specifically for HR professionals who have launched their own consulting business. Offering the full benefits of membership, the only qualification for this membership category is that the company may have only one full time employee - You!

Nonprofit Organization Membership
Nonprofit Organizations (501(c)3, 501(c)6, or Public Schools) who wish to join HRMAC to provide professional development and networking opportunities to their Human Resources staff are invited to join under this category. Dues fee is determined by the number of your organization's employees located in the greater Chicago area. Everyone in your organization is considered a member, regardless of where they are located, and are encouraged to take advantage of membership discounts and benefits. Organizations providing products and services to the human resources community must join HRMAC under the Professional Services category.

Does HRMAC offer individual memberships?

HRMAC offers three types of individual memberships:

  • Transition - Transition Membership is an annual individual membership designed to help ease the burden of changes in employment status. This membership is only available to human resources professionals who are unemployed and actively seeking a full-time, HR-related position.
  • Student - Student Membership may be held by those at the undergraduate and graduate level. This is a low cost way for students to be involved in HRMAC and become acquainted with professionals in the field and learn more about human resources. Students can take advantage of their membership by volunteering as assistants at meetings and conferences.
  • Civic - Civic Membership is for individuals in the public sector. Any public sector employee who is interested in the mission of the Association shall be eligible as a civic member. Since this is an individual membership, only the person holding the membership may take advantage of HRMAC membership. For that reason, consider corporate membership so that all of your employees can participate in HRMAC events at member rates.
What if I can't get my company to join?
A HRMAC staff member will be happy to talk to you further about the benefits of a corporate membership and gladly send you membership materials to present to your HR team.
